  1. Get a comprehensive energy assessment from a certified home energy rater.
  2. Caulk & weatherize all leaks identified by the energy rater.
  3. Reseal and insulate (if needed) your heating/cooling ducts.
  4. Increase attic insulation to R-40 total*
